Globe and books The GCI Alaska Academic Decathlon is a statewide all-academic competition for high school students.
It has been designated by the IRS as a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation.

It is a planned program that:

  • Develops knowledge-based skills which enable the student to become a part of the business community

  • Challenges the students to push themselves beyond what they thought academically possible, motivating and recapturing their interest in academics.

  • Rewards the heroes of the academic arena. It encourages "C" students to excel beyond their current achievement level and teaches other students that they have strengths they can contribute to the team.

  • Is conducted in 46 states and the District of Columbia. It involves over 35,000 students each year.

  • Represents all that's positive about our young people.
