The
Board of Directors for the GCI Alaska Academic Decathlon invites universities, colleges, and other
institutes of higher learning
to display admissions information at the state competition.
The Academic Decathlon is the premier academic event in the state. Each year more than 300 students from 35 schools
across the state participate. This is your opportunity to display
campus recruiting information on a table reserved especially for
your institution.
The
Alaska Academic Decathlon Board of Directors offers nine $1,000
scholarships to the top three overall scorers in each grade category.
We invite you to also consider offering scholarships to
Decathletes. Your criteria
for determining the scholarship winners may be separate from the
competition itself, or you may select one or several events to base your
decision upon. Applications
for your scholarships may be handed out at your booth or sent to the
coaches ahead of time using labels that we can provide.
We
offer educational institutes the opportunity to make a short 5-minute presentation
introducing your program and the scholarship opportunities you are
offering to the GCI Alaska Academic Decathlon participants at the
Wednesday Night Ice Breaker.
Scholarships will be presented at the Awards Banquet.
We encourage you to join us for the banquet and to present your
scholarships personally.
A
goal of the Decathlon is to encourage students to remain in the State of
Alaska after graduation from high school. We believe that this
competition and scholarships offered by in-State universities help us
attain that goal.

we receive your display registration we will be happy to post your
scholarship offerings on this web site. If you are displaying at the Decathlon and would like us to
