2008 is the 23rd year that students from across Alaska will meet to
compete and show the skills they have achieved on their way to academic
excellence.
GCI,
our prime sponsor, in association with our other major contributors, will award
nine $1000 scholarships to our top three students with the highest overall
scores in each division of Honors, Scholastic and Varsity.
You have worked hard to qualify for the State Competition. You competed on a team level as well as on an individual level. At the Awards
Banquet individual
gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded in each division for the
following events.
In
addition, we will award a team award and individual medals for the gold, silver,
and bronze winners for the Super Quiz.
Team
trophies will be given to the top three teams overall. There are also team
trophies for the top three teams in the Small School Division (schools under 250
student enrollment). Trophies will
be awarded for the top three teams in the Rookie Division (teams that have
competed three or fewer years).
The
highest scoring student from each participating school receives an
individual award. Every student
receives a participation certificate.
The highest scoring team overall
will represent the State of Alaska at the National Competition in April, 2008.
