Volunteer
for the 25th
Annual
GCI
Alaska Academic Decathlon
The Academic Decathlon is such a rewarding way to spend a
small amount of time once a year helping Alaskan students from across
the state to become academically motivated. The GCI Alaska Academic Decathlon is committed to the philosophy
that everyone's learning
potential can be maximized through competitive challenge.
The theme of next year's event is:
Latin America
2008-2009
The teams you will be judging are made up of nine
students:
-
three
"A" or
Honor students
-
three
"B" or Scholastic students
-
three
"C" or Varsity students
When you donate your time, during the State competition, as
an essay grader, a speech or interview judge, or a as a test proctor, you provide an opportunity for
these students to be evaluated professionally
in an area they have worked all year to excel in. I know you will leave
the event feeling elated with
a renewed sense of todays youth when you see Alaskas young men and
women striving to achieve their personal best.
For our
volunteers this year we will provide:

judging and is included in the time scheduled on the registration
